Change Our Perseption

There are actually three steps to do self-recognizing according to what Aa Gym wrote in his book, “Jagalah Hati”. Two of the three steps have been discussed in the previous blog: “Get To Know Your Potentials” and “Focus on Ourselves”. The following brief discussion explain the third step by step of self-recognizing, that is Changing our Perception.
Perception is our point of view in understanding our potentials. If we have a perception that we’ve always failed and can’t therefore be better., we will never achieve success.
Changing our perception, thus, becomes very important. In the concept of qolbu management, the change of perception should be begun by measuring it from our innermost heart. In other words, someone will be able to change his perception effectively if he makes use of his qolbu.
The heart that is always directed to Allah SWT will show that basically human has a god side. He can change his perception toward goodness if he encourages his good side and discourages his bad side. So, we must have a perception that we can be better, that we can be successful, and that Allah SWT will always help His servant who sincerely asks for His help. Such a perception will always stimulate our motivation and aspiration to achieve much in life.
